Hrishita Bhatt was born into a Bengali-speaking family on May 10, 1981, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She used to take dance lessons as a child, was athletic and believed in keeping fit from her school days.
Since her childhood, Hrishita dreamed of becoming a pilot but grew up to realize that acting is her passion. After completing her education at Trinity College, London, Hrishita started learning Kathak and various dance forms from the renowned choreographer Shiamak Davar. This was followed by some major modeling assignments like 'Liril' and Hrishita became a popular girl frequently appearing in television ads and music videos.
Soon she got an offer for a role in the Santosh Sivan's historical drama 'Asoka' to star opposite Shahrukh Khan. She even bagged a lead role in 'Shararat' opposite Abhishek Bachchan.
