Ayesha Takia Biography

Born to a Gujrati father and a half British and half Maharashtrian mother on April 10th, 1985, this buxom beauty has been in front of the camera since the tender age of 4. Initially she did advertisements, and later on graduating to music videos at the age of fifteen she appeared in Phalguni Pathak’s melodious song Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye.

Her professional career has been shaping up well, her recent movies are Shadi Se Pahele, Home Delivery, Shadi No.1 and Dil Maange More. Salaam-e-Ishq: A tribute to love is her upcoming release on the box-office. Ayesha, one of the very few lucky new comers, is upbeat for having worked with the legendary Naseeruddin Shah in his maiden directorial venture Yun Hota To Kya Hota. Her upcoming projects include a performance-oriented role in Nagesh Kuknoor’s Dor where she plays a house wife to a worker in Saudi Arabia. Soon she will be seen in a Ram Gopal Verma’s Satthu.


Ayesha Takia born on April 10, 1986 and grew up in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She had comes from a mixed family. Her father, Nishit, is Gujarati, and her mother, Faridah, is half British and half Maharashtrian, an Anglo-Indian Muslim. Ayesha's favorite actors from childhood are [Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan]. Her favorite actresses are [Sridevi and Rani Mukherji]. She finds that there are many good directors but she has always liked Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Takia went to St. Anthony's High School, but never went to college because she started to work when she turned 16. She said in interviews that she grew up speaking English at home and had to learn Hindi and Telugu for her roles in film. Her father interacts with her producers and handles her dates. She has a younger sister named Natasha born on 5 February, 1988.

She won the Filmfare Best Debut Award in year-2004 for her performance in Taarzan: The Wonder Car. She has appeared in a number of films that have done not well at the box office. However, she has been highly praised for her work in the year-2006 Dor, a smaller budget film in which she plays the role of a young widowed Rajasthani woman living in a traditional joint family. She went on to win several awards for her performance in the film Dor, including the Zee Cine Critics Award for Best Actress. She appeared in the famous I am a Complan Boy! I am a Complan Girl! campaign alongside Shahid Kapoor and also in a music video, Falguni Pathak's Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye, when she was 15. She then appeared in the videos, Shake It Daddy, when she was 16, which brought her to the attention of the film industry, and a few film offers followed. She signed a contract for Socha Na Tha, then for Taarzan: The Wonder Car. However, delays in making Socha Na Tha meant that Taarzan released first and was therefore her "debut" film.


In her free time Ayesha likes to listen to stories, music, read books, and spend time with her family members.Her favourite leisure is going for long drives and chatting with friends at cafes.

Ayesha was reportedly dating Siddharth Koirala, brother of Manisha Koirala but recently, this eye candy lass is reported to be in head over heels in love with Farhan Azmi, of Koyla and Basillico fame son of M.P Abu Asim Azmi.
